Rhié

Rhié was launched with a desire to distill an image of an intelligent, freshly refined woman who knows the value of detail and quality materials. With an emphasis on knitwear, the brand has a language of precision, and at the same time an element of ease. Rie Yamagata was born in Los Angeles and attended Parsons School of Design for two years, after which she transferred to Central Saint Martins in London and graduated with a BA in womenswear. After working in Tokyo and New York for notable brands such as Tsumori Chisato and 3.1 Phillip Lim, she launched Rhié with a capsule knitwear collection for Spring 2011, which has since evolved into a full collection. Rhié is based in New York and is currently produced in Los Angeles and New York, using materials imported from Europe, Japan and Australia.
