New Work: Clara Claus
Clara Claus is an artist based in Brooklyn who grew up in the south of France. Her painted pyramids of MOUNT are modules composed of triangular paintings. Each painted side of each pyramid is a section inspired by everyday life, moments, people and compositions encountered and captured for their sense of vibration. The modules are assembled to expand the multifaceted installation and its visual play. It all becomes a physical landscape and a dismantling of memory.
Clara Claus graduated from The Cooper Union and went to the Yale Norfolk art residency. She collaborated with Bryce Dessner on a graphic score for a performance at BAM as part of the Crossing Brooklyn Ferry festival in April 2013, she was also recently included in the group show “New Americana” in Chicago, which will be showing in New York in the fall. She is currently working with Richard Reed Parry on visuals for his upcoming album.
