It’s always amazing to see how Scott Sternberg threads together his inspirations and ideas through three collections presented back to back in one show for Band of Outsiders. His sense of theatricality and flair for dramatic staging always heightens the experience. The southwestern setting was the perfect backdrop for the earthy, clay and sunset tones present throughout both his men’s and women’s collections. For the guys there was corduroy, wool and chino suiting, chambray shirts, degradé plaids and stripes, alpaca knits, Oaxacan embroidery, duster coats, denim and work boots. For the ladies, rosebud and feather printed dresses, falling-rose jacquard wool blanket coats, degradé plaid, patchwork knits and floor-grazing skirts. Every conceivable combination of fox fur, shearling and fake fur upped the glamour quotient.
a little too literally.
